It's a Wonderful Life
Advent 2012
One of the customs of the Christmas season is the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life. It is considered to be one of the most inspirational and best loved movies in American cinema. This Frank Capra directed and produced film was originally released in 1946 but is still viewed by many annually. It stars Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed. The film was based Philip Van Doren Stern’s book, The Greatest Gift. It’s a Wonderful Life is part of the tapestry of Christmas.
Between the first Sunday Advent and Christmas Eve I will be preaching a new five part sermon series called It’s a Wonderful Life. Each week we will look at a different section of the movie to expose the lessons of Advent. My goal is not to entertain you; my goal is to spiritually prepare you for Christmas. The incarnation of God, Jesus changed everything. C. S. Lewis once wrote, “God became man to turn creatures into sons: not simply to produce better men of the old kind but to produce a new kind of man.” Below you will find a copy of my preaching schedule. I would encourage you to read the scriptures in advance and watch the movie.
May God bless you as we begin this journey together.
In His Service,
Russ Adams
