Would God send two bears out of the woods to maul forty-two teenagers? Over the past few years, I have been asked that question countless times by our high school Sunday School class. It is not something they read on-line or experienced in some game. It is not part of the story line in some science fiction book. It is something they read in the Bible. It sounds weird, but it is true. Do you remember the story? It comes from 2 Kings 2:23-25. Forty-two teenagers were laughing at Elisha, so he prayed to God to punish them. The rest is Biblical history. There is no other way to say it. It is a weird story.

The Bible is filled with such weird stories. I have challenged our high school class to find the weirdest Bible stories so I can preach on them. They did a great job. Below you will find a list of their selections. I have turned it into my tentative preaching schedule for this fall. I look forward to examining and preaching each story.
